TCYSA Registration Information

How are teams formed? Returning players (played in Spring 2008 will automatically return to their prior team unless they request the "pool"). Players who skipped a single season (played Fall 2007 but not Spring 2008) will be placed on their previous team only if room is available and the team has not folded and their registration is completed and payment is received before regular registration ends. They may also request the "pool". Players who skipped more than one season go into the "pool". New players in TCYSA will be placed in the "pool". Players may NOT request coaches or teams. Teams are initially formed by "slotting" returning players to their previious season team. In order for that team to "make" there must be a minimum number of returning players (at least 1/3 of the previous season roster). If a team does not "make due to insufficient returning players, an effort will be made to keep all returning players together, either on a newly formed team or combined with a returning team. Next, an effort is made to place players who skipped a season but want to return to the prior team (returning players have priority over players who skipped a season so this is dependent on availablity and is not guaranteed). Lastly, players from the "pool" are randomly placed, using public elementary school boundaries where possible (whether the player actually attends that school or not). Due to varying numbers of players signing up from different areas within a given age division, WE CAN NOT GUARANTEE YOUR PLAYER WILL BE PLACED ON A TEAM IN YOUR IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORHOOD.
